Messages from Manor

Dear Parents and Carers

The Festive Season is well and truly upon us and nothing is more festive than a Christmas Fayre. This week the PTA put on a fabulous event to get us all into the spirit. They wrote the following message for you:

Thank you very much to all attended the Christmas fayre last night, it was a lovely event and we hope you all enjoyed it. A really big thank you to all those who volunteered before and during the event. We couldn't have done it without your help. The total raised was £1146.36 and we are hoping this will go towards some new equipment for the trim trail on the field. Thanks again. PTFA

We would also like to thank the members of the PTA and all the volunteers and staff who contributed to the evening giving time, turkey (thanks to the Hemus family) and a tree (thanks to the Berekis family) among many other contributions.

The next two weeks in school promise to be hectic but magical. It is always a privilege to work with children, especially at this time of year. Having said that, I think staff will be ready for a break in two weeks time!

Kurling Club

We had an inspirational assembly last week by Ronnie and Milly, two former Team GB athletes who told us their stories about becoming Winter Olympians. After Christmas they are running after school clubs for Kurling ahead of the upcoming Winter Olympics. These are inspirational elite athletes who are also really nice people and great with the children. Check out Arbor to book your places before they sell out.

Christmas Competition Time

Just a reminder about this - we have had no entries yet so you would have a good chance of winning some money!

Following a visit from Jean and Judy who are our local church wardens, we have agreed to support a competition they are running. They would like children from Manor, with the support of their families, to create a Christmas decoration for the end of one of the pews in the church. The decoration should be able to be tied round the end of the pew and hang down.

The decorations can be dropped off in school with the child's name and age (these will be removed after judging). They will be collected on Thursday December 11th and displayed in church and judged.

A kind village resident has donated prize money of £25 for 1st, £15 for 2nd and £10 for 3rd. These decorations will remain in church over Christmas, including for our Carol Service.

Time to get those creative juices flowing!
