Dear Parents and Carers

The Spring term is flying by and we are looking forward to lots of Easter fun over the next few weeks. We will be having the usual EYFS and KS1 Easter Hat/bonnet competition on the last day of term (Friday 11th) and parents are invited to stay on the playground after drop off where PTA will serve hot drinks. Children will go in to school, get registered, then come out a class at a time to parade round the playground with their hats. Someone will then have the thankless task of judging the best hats. We will as always be looking for clear involvement of the child in making the hat, but it is still an impossible job to get right! In poor weather we will squeeze into the hall and parade in there.

KS2 children are invited to create an egg diorama (a scene using boiled or blown eggs). This is on the theme of 'Sport' this year. It should be around shoebox sized and creativity and humour are to be eggcouraged! These will be displayed on tables in the hall for the whole school and parents to see before being judged.

The main purpose is to have some Easter-themed fun and creativity. Any questions, please do ask.

Cross Country

Our Year 3 and 4 cross country runners finally got their chance to run after an autumn term postponement. It was worth the wait as our Year 3 girls team came first! They beat all of the other schools in Tamworth including the red hot favourites, Millfield, who are always very strong at this. The others all gave everything showing resilience and a great sporting attitude. Well done all, and thanks to Mr Lloyd who went along to supervise them.

Playtime Fun Needs Your Support!

As the days grow sunnier and warmer, children have been making the most of their playtimes! One highlight has been the excitement of friendly chess matches, where budding strategists test their skills against one another. Activity booklets have also been a hit, sparking creativity and keeping young minds engaged even during their breaks.

To make playtime even more enjoyable, we've moved three of the benches to the trim trail area, creating a more welcoming and versatile space for the children to relax, connect, and play. This refreshed setup is already proving to be a favourite spot for outdoor fun.

However, we need your help! To continue enriching playtime, we are seeking donations of additional games and activities for our students to enjoy. We are looking for donations of games that are no longer a favourite in your homes such as - connect 4, Draughts, Guess Who, playing cards, Uno, board games that are quick to set up, minimum pieces, quick to play and put away again, puzzles etc they would make a big difference in keeping playtime both fun and inspiring.

If you can contribute, please reach out to the school office or Mrs Armstrong. Every little bit helps to make playtime a memorable and joyful part of our students' day.

Thank you 🙂

PTA Wreath Making

We had a fantastic first wreath making workshop last night we made c. £200 profit it was a fun evening and the help of volunteers made it a success!

Some very creative flair amongst our parents and grandparents .. we hope to follow up with a Christmas wreath/table display workshop

PTA Gardening

Over Easter, PTA members are planning to renovate our garden area behind the car park. The aim is to create a peaceful and calming area for children to go at playtimes with a path and some seating areas as well as new raised beds for planting and growing. If anyone would like to help out please do get in touch with any staff or PTA members.
