These pupils successfully completed an application process to be considered for the role, demonstrating their enthusiasm for reading and their commitment to helping others develop a love of books. The standard of applications was extremely high, and we were impressed by the passion, responsibility and kindness shown by all applicants.

Our Reading Champions have agreed to give up some of their playtimes to support reading across the school. They will play an important role in promoting a positive reading culture and helping younger children to enjoy books and stories.

As part of their role, Reading Champions will:

• Help to look after and organise our reading areas.
• Recommend favourite books to other pupils.
• Support younger readers during reading sessions.
• Encourage children to try new authors and genres.
• Help keep books tidy and well cared for.
• Promote reading events and challenges throughout the year.
• Share their enthusiasm for reading with others.

We are incredibly proud of our new Reading Champions and would like to thank them for volunteering their time and effort. We look forward to seeing the positive impact they will have on reading across our school.
