It's electric!

Owls put in an electric performance during their recent science lessons.

Owls have been working scientifically recently and doing a fine job of it too! Watt (!!!) happened is… that the children were shockingly (!!!) good! There were no loose circuits (!!!), and the current (!!!) outlook is that Owls sparked (!!!) some great thinking and learning. There were no negatives (!!!) in the lessons – in fact, everyone was very positive (!!!). Okay… now the puns have finished, to the matter in hand. Owls have been investigating electrical circuits, creating their own electrical game and testing conductors and insulators. They have also drawn circuit diagrams using correct electrical symbols. The children were great at working systematically too. In a recent lesson, the children were testing a range of materials to see whether they were conductors or insulators. But first of all, they had to ensure that they had a correct working circuit. This wasn’t always what happened in the first instance, so the children then had to determine whether it was the battery or the bulb that was at fault. Once they had established this, they could then test the range of materials in their circuits. Excellent systematic thinking and problem-solving from everyone! And to end where we started, ask your Owl about their understanding of electrical circuits, then wait for the answer. We’re sure they’ll socket (!!!) to you!
