🏴☠️ Ahoy There! Pirate Day Is a Treasure of Fun! 🦜💰

Shiver me timbers! The children had a fantastic time during our Pirate Day, which linked perfectly with our Commotion in the Ocean topic.
Throughout the week, the children have been busy taking part in lots of exciting pirate-themed activities. They showed great creativity while making their own pirate hats, parrots, telescopes, treasure chests and pirate flags. In Forest School, the children followed treasure maps to search for hidden treasure and enjoyed listening to lots of pirate stories.
Our budding pirates also got busy in the kitchen, baking delicious rock cakes and making their own sandwiches ready for a special pirate picnic. Our wonderful cook, Lindsey, also made us some pirate cupcakes – what a treat! There were plenty of opportunities for teamwork too, as the children worked together to create impressive pirate ships using large construction materials.
One of the highlights of the week was making our friends "walk the plank!" The excitement reached a whole new level when we even managed to convince Mr Robson, our Headteacher, to walk the plank too! Thankfully, he survived the shark-infested waters below!
The children have loved hunting for treasure, exploring pirate adventures and immersing themselves in imaginative play. It has been wonderful to see so much enthusiasm, creativity and teamwork throughout the week.
We have had a truly treasure-filled week and would like to thank all of our families for helping the children come dressed and ready for adventure.
