This wintery weather couldn’t have come at a better time, as our topic for this half term is “The Wonders of Winter.” The children have had great fun exploring all things winter and wonderful, turning our outdoor spaces into magical learning environments.

From building snowmen and making snow angels to investigating ice formations, the children have embraced every opportunity to discover the beauty of winter. These hands-on experiences have sparked curiosity and rich conversations about cold weather, seasonal changes, and the clothes we wear to keep warm.

Our activities have linked perfectly to our learning goals in Understanding the World, encouraging children to observe, describe, and question what they see, hear, and feel. They’ve explored textures, temperatures, and even the science behind ice and snow; all while developing language and social skills through collaborative play.
