Kingsbury Water Park.

Robins and Ducklings have a great day out at Kingsbury Water Park.

What an exciting day we had on Monday! Our trip to Kingsbury Water Park had lots of exciting moments. These exciting moments started with the first ride on the school mini-bus. We had two trips to get there, with one group going first while the other group stopped at school, then the second group joined us after. Once there, everybody was ready to get started with the first activity of the day, which was mini beast hunting. We had a lovely walk through the forest to a meadow where we used nets and magnifying viewers to catch and look at a great range of mini beasts. There were lots of different finds whilst we were there, perhaps some of the best being the number of grasshoppers that the children found. We then took a different route back to the classroom via the forest area where we stopped to look for other mini beasts under logs and piles of sticks. Once back in the classroom, the children enjoyed their lunch, having spent much of the morning asking when lunchtime was! After lunch, the children had some time to play in the playground area, a place that had lots of exciting things to use such as swings and slides and a zip wire. After that, we went back to the classroom to start our afternoon activity, which was a dinosaur hunt. The children followed a route and discovered dinosaur footprints on the way before we got to the forest area where they went hunting for fossilised dinosaur eggs around the forest to make a dinosaur nest. After this, they were palaeontologists who looked through the sand to find dinosaur bones, matching them with the pictures that were surrounding the sandpit. A great time was had by everybody. We managed to get a little bit more time on the swings before heading back to the classroom to gather our belongings and get back on the bus to head back to school. We would like to say a big thank you to the Rangers who helped us with the activities and generally having a great time whilst we were there. And the Robins team would like to say a big thank you to all of the children who were fabulous – representing Manor Primary in a superb fashion. Well done, everybody!
